Imagine picking your way through long, exposed trad lines on bullet hard volcanic rock, surrounded by views that make it clear you are miles from anywhere. The long walk in is more than offset by the beautiful remote camping and the outstanding climbing. Close to perfect!
The ‘Bungles contain some of the most remote and adventurous climbing on the mainland of Australia. Huge volcanic outcrops, situated well above the treeline, make for stunning trad lines and jaw dropping exposure.
With little in the way of guidebooks and ambiguous information online the route finding can be as challenging as topping out on a huge volcanic spire is rewarding. The climbing and location need to be experienced to be believed!
