Location: Wentworth Falls Lake

These sessions are FREE for NOEC attendees – use the code “NOEC22” at the checkout.

Session 1: More Than “Just Canoeing”

8.30 am – 11.30 am

After nearly 2 decades of instruction, one of the most common comments from participants on our courses is “I never knew that there was so much involved in ‘Just Canoeing’.”

There is so much more!

Expect to walk away with ideas, skills, techniques and more tools in your “Bag of tricks” that will assist you in program design and delivery. Suitable for canoeing in both centre-based and journey settings.

Some of the topics covered will include: Solo paddling techniques, advanced rescue skills, rigid raft-building, use of different types of paddles and canoes, releasable knots and towing, new strokes, and other gems from the ancient art of the canoe.

Session 2: Canoe Sampler

12.30 pm – 3.30 pm

Thought all canoes were the same? Think again!

If you are considering buying a canoe (or fleet of canoes!) but want to see what they look, feel, and paddle like then this is a great way to try before you buy.

Come and experience the southern hemisphere’s largest range of recreational canoes. Our expert instructors will provide you with insight into all the various brands, models and materials, with their strengths and trade-offs. Importantly, you’ll get to paddle all the models to understand their performance first hand.

Ultra-lite canoeing, canoe poling, canoe sailing, whitewater-specific canoes, 4-person canoes, 14-person “voyageur” canoes, marathon racing canoes, high-kneeling sprint canoes. Fishing, white water, play boats, touring, family boats, solo boats, fast boats, nimble boats and so much more. There will also be a wide range of paddles on hand to try.
