Marty Doolan

Instructor

Marty has been guiding climbing since 2007 and has climbed extensively across Australia. His climbing adventures have also taken him to the USA (Yosemite, Tuolume Meadows, Indian Creek and Zion National Park), Wales, France, Spain, Croatia, Chile, Peru and Columbia. He was fortunate to trek with Lincoln Hall in Nepal 2010 and has gazed longingly at the rock while trekking in Patagonia.

When asked about his favourite crag in Australia, Marty will tell you that without a doubt it’s “the mighty Wolgan Valley. Long splitter cracks, remote wilderness setting and no one in sight…….paradise”. He’s been lucky enough to make a few first ascents in his own corner of paradise.

Marty holds a Workplace Trainer and Assessor Qualification and a Diploma of Outdoor Recreation with specializations in instructing canyoning, abseiling and multi pitch climbing. He has also appeared in numerous climbing-related publications, TV shows and advertisements, and has been a part time fireman with NSW Fire and Rescue since 2008.
