For Experienced Climbers Only

Graded at 18 and spanning eight pitches over 270 metres, Bunny Bucket’s Buttress is not to be underestimated. This climb demands sustained effort, vertical exposure, and technical skill, making it ideal for experienced participants ready for a mega-classic adventure.

Your Day’s Journey

We begin at our Blackheath office, organising gear, lunch and briefing you for the day ahead. A short 20-minute drive to Pearce’s Pass sets the stage for the adventure. From here, we hike down to “Lunch Ledge,” a hub for some of the region’s most daring climbs and the starting point for our descent.

Abseiling into the Grose Valley

Your journey starts with 100 metres of exhilarating abseiling, offering spectacular views and setting the tone for the epic climb ahead. Reaching the base of the cliff is an accomplishment in itself, but the real challenge is yet to come.

Climbing Bunny Bucket’s Buttress

The climb begins with grade 18 moves that immediately test your strength and focus. With eight pitches to tackle, each section offers a mix of challenges and rewards. The standout highlight is the seventh pitch—a stunning 40-metre stretch of sheer rock that requires technical climbing in a profound and epic position high up above the valley.

Topping Out and the Hike Back

Reaching the top of the plateau is an unforgettable moment, capping off one of the most rewarding climbs in the Blue Mountains. The day concludes with a hike along the ridgetop and back to the carpark, where the sense of accomplishment truly sets in.
