The Day’s Itinerary
Your journey kicks off at our Blackheath office, where we’ll outfit you with all the necessary gear, including wetsuits for the afternoon’s canyoning. After gathering equipment and briefing you on the day’s plan, we’ll head to an abseiling site chosen specifically for your group’s experience level and interests. We have many sites to choose from, with various heights and challenges- there is something appropriate for all skill levels!
Custom Abseil Session We offer a range of abseil heights and challenges to suit everyone in your group. Want to build on your skills? Our instructors are here to provide expert guidance and in-depth instruction, making sure you feel confident and prepared.
Lunch with Altitude
After a morning of adventure, we’ll head to the Valley of the Waters for lunch. What’s on offer? Whatever you have selected from the Altitude Deli’s generous menu! They can handle all dietary requirements and are well known for providing the best lunches to fuel big adventures in the Blue Mountains.
Afternoon Canyon Adventure
With lunch wrapped up, we’ll descend into Empress Canyon. The adventure starts with a series of exhilarating water jumps, followed by a chance to relax and marvel at the stunning canyon walls while you wade, swim and scramble downstream. Here, you’ll get a true sense of the Blue Mountains’ beauty and wildness in the majestic and deep slot carved by water over aeons.
The Grand Finale: 30m Waterfall Abseil
Our whole day has led us to this point. You will now have the abseiling and canyon movement skills to tackle this fantastic waterfall!
This is one of the taller and wettest canyon abseils you will find in the blue mountains. A fantastic challenge that you will conquer thanks to your morning’s abseil instruction.
Hiking Out of the Canyon
Once at the base of Empress Falls, we’ll change out of wetsuits and start the scenic hike back. The climb out of the gorge is steep but rewarding, offering spectacular views along historic tracks and stairways that wind up the rugged terrain.
