Additional information

Ideal for Adventurers Seeking a New Challenge

Experience a true taste of the Blue Mountains’ wilderness, with challenging abseils, ancient rainforest scenery, and stunning sandstone formations. This trip is a fantastic introduction to remote canyoning, ideal for those looking to elevate their outdoor skills.

Your Day’s Adventure

We’ll begin at our Blackheath office, where you’ll receive all the necessary gear and a full briefing on the day ahead. Then, it’s a one-hour drive to Mount Wilson, a unique basalt-capped dome covered in ancient eucalypt forests—a testament to the region’s volcanic history.

Descent into Serendipity Canyon

Our adventure begins with a 45-minute hike down through dryer sclerophyll forests and to the canyon’s entrance. The first abseil will give you a chance to sharpen your abseiling skills and will land us on the Canyon floor.

Exploring Jurassic Landscapes

Prepare to be amazed as we wade, scramble, and swim through the canyon’s ancient rainforest, with towering canyon walls and lush vegetation that feel straight out of Jurassic Park. The journey becomes more technical as we progress, with abseils that lead into narrow slots and deeper sections of the slot canyon.

Water Jumps, Glow Worms & Lunch by the River

More swims and obstacles quickly follow including a large water jump and a dark cave full of glow worms (where water levels and time respectively allows…!)

The canyon then merges with the Wollangambe River system, where we’ll enjoy a large water jump and break for lunch on a scenic rock ledge.

Hiking Out

We’ll conclude with a challenging 1.5-hour hike, ascending 330 vertical metres to the car park—a rewarding finish to an unforgettable adventure.
